Finance Coordinator

 

Symphony Nova Scotia is hiring a Part-time Finance Coordinator.

The Finance Coordinator is a key member of the administrative team, supporting and directly reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).  The Finance Coordinator is responsible for all bookkeeping functions, payroll and payment processing, and account reconciliations. The Finance Coordinator supports the COO with financial analysis, reporting, and audit preparation.

About You

To be considered for this role you must:

  • have 5+ years experience as a controller, internal accountant or high-level bookkeeper with responsibility for both data entry and financial analysis
  • have a diploma or degree in accounting or a related field
  • have extensive experience with both data entry and big-picture analysis
  • be fully proficient with Sage accounting software
  • have a strong working knowledge of payroll systems, benefit plans, and Office 365
  • be very comfortable in a digital environment

Knowledge, experience and interest in non-profit organizations, especially in the live performing arts and/or classical music, would be considered a strong asset.

Work Environment & Expectations

This position is 15-20 hours per week with some in-office and some remote work anticipated. Salary Range and Benefits
$25-$28/hour plus access to a comprehensive health plan.
