Catherine (Cate) Weis, CD serves as the Women for Music representative to the board of Symphony Nova Scotia. She recently retired from the Canadian Army, after over 25 years of service as a Logistics Officer. Although she appreciates most art forms, Cate has particularly enjoyed performing in or attending musical and theatre events. Growing up in Edmonton, she played piano, recorder, and flute in school bands and orchestras and sang in church and school choirs.
She has participated in many diverse volunteer activities including coaching swimming and as an Aide de Camp to three Lieutenant Governors of Nova Scotia. While appreciating the extra time retirement allows her with her husband, daughters, and grandchildren, Cate continues to volunteer with Government House, the Nova Scotia Talent Trust, and the Women for Music Society, which she joined two years ago. Cate has enjoyed Symphony Nova Scotia concerts for many years, and she also enjoys gardening, camping, and hiking.
Joined the Board in 2017. Serving a one-year term (until 2018) on the Board.
