David Wilson is currently the President of Wilsons Security, a subsidiary of Wilson Fuel Co. Limited. Wilsons is a privately held, family-owned business that has built its business for over 100 years through customer service, innovation, and committed long-term employees.

Prior to Wilsons, David worked extensively in the venture capital industry in both Canada and in the United States. David’s venture capital career began in 1993 when he joined TA Associates. He subsequently worked for Canadian-based venture capital funds ACF Equity Atlantic and Growthworks Capital. Prior to joining TA, David was an engineering consultant with Decision Focus Inc. of Mountain View, California.

David has worked with numerous early- and growth-stage privately held companies as an investor and Board member. He is a past Board member of the Canadian Venture Capital Association and the United Way of Halifax, and a past trustee of the United Way of Halifax’s Tomorrow Fund and the Wilson Merriam Family Foundation. David is a past Board member of Innovacorp and Chair of the Investment Committee, and is a Past Chair of the Board of Governors at the Halifax Grammar School. David has also worked on campaign cabinets for the Red Cross and the Salvation Army. David holds a Bachelor of Arts, with Honors, magna cum laude, in Engineering from Dartmouth College, and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
