Gail Morris

Past Chair

Gail Morris is a retired Real Estate Agent, having co-owned Domus Realty in Halifax for 28 years and having been active in the Real Estate Community for a total of 39 years. During this time, she served as a director on all levels of local real estate boards, the Canadian Real Estate Association, and the Real Estate Institute of Canada Nova Scotia Chapter. Among her career awards are the Distinguished Realtor Award and the Women of Excellence Award in the Entrepreneur/Innovator category from the Halifax Progress Club.

An active community volunteer, Gail has most recently served on the Board of Symphony Nova Scotia in various capacities, and is a current member and Past Chair of the Volunteer Gardening Committee at the IWK Healing Garden.

Private time is spent with family and friends, indulging three grown sons, their partners, and eight grandchildren; enjoying her retirement hobbies of SCANS classes, gardening, walking, reading, and prior to COVID-19, a passion was entertaining and travelling with her husband and longtime business partner, Sandy Rutledge; and of course, attending Symphony concerts.

Joined the Board in 2010. Entering the second year of a two-year term (until 2021) as Past Chair of the Board.
