Varqa Mirzaagha was born and raised in the Maritimes, primarily in and around Halifax. After receiving a Commerce degree from Queen’s University, he spent six years in Toronto as an investment banker at a boutique firm, principally in the mining group. In 2012, he and his twin brother returned to Halifax to join the business their father had founded, AutoChoice Parts & Paints, which distributes automotive parts and paint across Atlantic Canada.
Varqa’s musical interests include classical music, opera, and trance. More broadly, he maintains a passion for an array of sports (soccer, golf, tennis, curling, and hockey) and an addiction to travel. He is conversational in Spanish, Farsi, and French, and is an avid air-pianist.
