Hilary Brown

Hilary Brown is a graduate of Boston University where she obtained her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees. She has been a cellist with Symphony Nova Scotia for over 30 years and is a founding member of the Blue Engine String Quartet. Hilary is also very active in the local early music scene, having played for many years with Tempest Baroque Ensemble, Réjouissance, the St. George’s Consort, and numerous Paul Halley and Nick Halley productions. She has also performed at the Sackville Festival of Early Music in New Brunswick, and as part of the Early Music Intensive project at Mount Allison University. Hilary is on the faculty of the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts and is a cello coach for the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra.
