An update from our CEO: All remaining 2020 in-person events cancelled

Dear friends,

Due to the recent rise of COVID-19 cases in our community, Symphony Nova Scotia has cancelled all our remaining in-person public concerts through to the end of 2020.

While we planned these in-person events to strictly adhere to directives and guidelines from Nova Scotia’s public health authorities, our first priority is the health and safety of our community, including our hardworking musicians and staff.

Though we’ll miss connecting with our friends and supporters in person, we appreciate your patience and support as we continue to navigate this ever-changing pandemic together.

The cancelled events include collaborations with our generous longtime partners at Atlantica Halifax (Nov. 26), Pete’s Frootique (Nov. 27), and The Carleton (Nov. 28). If you have tickets to The Carleton on Nov. 28, their team will contact you directly to arrange your refund.

In lieu of live concerts, we hope you’ll be able to join us online on upcoming Thursday nights for our free, previously recorded Fusion Sessions concerts. These condensed, locally produced performances combine musicians from our orchestra with fantastic Nova Scotian artists like Jane Archibald, J.P. Cormier, Mo Kenney, and Heather Rankin, with more to be announced soon.

We’re also continuing to plan for our new, celebratory production of “’Twas the Night Before Nutcracker – a free, online-only event that will be available wherever you call home. Please stay tuned for updates through our newsletter, social media channels, and at symphonynovascotia.ca.

On behalf of all our Symphony family, we wish you health, peace, and wellness in these coming weeks, and look forward to sharing live music together again in the new year.

With best wishes,

Christopher Wilkinson
CEO, Symphony Nova Scotia
