Young People’s Concerts

Symphony Nova Scotia’s full-orchestra Young People’s Concert program is designed to give students an opportunity to experience the full symphony orchestra in a fun and engaging concert at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium. Please see contact information below if you are interested in bringing your students to hear the Symphony live in concert!

“I just have to say that you guys rock and that I would do anything to see you again. The way your music makes me smile, it warms me inside and out. I never want to stop listening to that beautiful sound I hear when Symphony Nova Scotia plays… It makes me smile and laugh with happiness.”

-Justice, age 10

This program is generously supported by Jason Roth and Cheryl Steadman-Roth through the Education and Diversity Outreach Fund.

Thank you to Doctor Piano for sponsoring this performance.

2024/25 Young People’s Concerts

THE THRILL OF THE ORCHESTRA!
Wednesday, November 6, 2024  at 10:30 am & 12:00 pm
The Rebecca Cohn Auditorium
Featuring Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser, conductor and Dr. Nicole Jordan, narrator

Symphony Nova Scotia’s 2024 Young People’s Concert is named after the contemporary educational classic that “always knocks the socks off the audience” (Symphony Magazine): The Thrill of the Orchestra by American composer Russell Peck. It will also feature fun and engaging music from Beethoven, Mozart, Joseph Bologne, John Williams, and William Grant Still performed by our full orchestra at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium.

The concert will be conducted by our Artist in Residence & Community Ambassador Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser and narrated by Dr. Nicole Jordan, a voice teacher at the Fountain School of Performing Arts. Check out their conversation about these performances!
