Canada’s own Daniel Bolshoy joins forces with Symphony Nova Scotia for a rare Halifax performance of Rodrigo’s Guitar Concerto, an evocative and poetic work that’s adored by audiences around the world. Plus, hear Mozart’s vibrant “Prague” Symphony and the Suite from Bizet’s opera Carmen, two dramatic works brimming with warmth, colour, and emotion.
Take a listen to Daniel Bolshoy’s beautiful performance on the classical guitar:
"The Concierto de Aranjuez is probably one of the most popular concerti, but it's also a piece that touches me very personally. It was composed for Regino Sainz de la maza, who was a great guitarist, and also my teacher's teacher. When I studied this piece with Ricardo Iznaola, I got the feeling of a 'family connection' to the piece. I've had the pleasure of playing this piece many times, but I always get excited to perform it and I look forward to what will happen this time."Daniel Bolshoy
