With his exceptional talent, massive career, and glorious, transcendent works, J.S. Bach is an undisputed father of classical music – but lesser known are his many brilliant contemporaries. In this lively and enlightening concert, Baroque music master Jeanne Lamon and Symphony Nova Scotia pay homage to Bach’s friends, mentors, and inspirations. Enjoy highlights like Handel’s sparkling Il Pastor Fido Suite, Telemann’s humorous “La Bourse”, and Pachelbel’s iconic, world-famous-Canon. And, of course, hear one of Bach’s many mighty masterpieces – the energetic, graceful Concerto for Violin and Oboe, highlighting Jeanne Lamon and our own virtuoso oboist Suzanne Lemieux.
This concert will also be performed at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax.
