This JUNO Award-winning, women-led ensemble has gained critical acclaim for their dynamic fusion of Afro-Cuban roots with jazz, folk, and global rhythms. A classically trained violinist, Elizabeth Rodriguez was born in Havana, Cuba and served as Concertmaster for Havana’s Youth Orchestra. Magdelys Savigne, from Santiago de Cuba, specializes in orchestral percussion. Now, in their first-ever collaboration with Symphony Nova Scotia, experience rich orchestrations of their powerful songs about immigration, courage, and love.

This concert is co-presented with Prismatic Festival, a national, multidisciplinary arts festival that showcases and celebrates innovative work by Indigenous artists and artists of colour from across Canada.
