The Symphony’s Music Director Laureate returns! As artistic leader for 16 years, Bernhard Gueller left a tremendous legacy. We honour his contribution by performing compositions by Beethoven, Wagner, and Mahler, all chosen specifically by Bernhard for this special occasion. These three works are emotionally redolent, with Kindertotenlieder, sung by Canadian superstar baritone Brett Polegato, reminding us how life’s injustices can be healed with acceptance and redemption. This is a don’t-miss opportunity to hear some of the most powerful classical works ever written.
