About the Artists
Lucy MacNeil, vocals
Lucy has been performing with the Barra MacNeils for 37 years. They come from a long tradition of Cape Breton music and dance that has been the foundation of creative pursuits over their musical career.
The Barras made several appearances on Rita MacNeil’s CBC variety show from 1994-97. In 2005, they were guests on Rita’s beloved National Christmas tour in Canada.

The Men of the Deeps
The Men of the Deeps is a choir of working and retired coal miners from the island of Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, Canada. Organized in 1966, the group’s inception was an effort by the people of Cape Breton to preserve in song some of the rich folklore of that island’s coal mining communities.

Here are a couple handy tips when booking tickets on the Dalhousie Box Office website:
- You’ll be asked to log in to book your tickets. If you’re not sure you have an account, click “Forgot your password?”
- You’ll need to agree to the Terms and Conditions before checking out.
- You’ll need to choose a Delivery Method:
- If you choose “Hold at Box Office”, you’ll need to pick up your tickets when you arrive, up to 1 hour before the concert. We recommend this for easy exchanges throughout the season!
- If you choose “Print at Home”, your tickets will be included with your confirmation email as a PDF attachment.
- You will receive an email confirmation from the Box Office.
