About the Artists
About Edges of Canada:
As our nation celebrates the 150th anniversary of Confederation, NYO Canada has been hand-picked – as one of a select group of just 40 carefully chosen organizations – to design, lead, and execute one of the most prestigious and high-profile signature events in the sesquicentennial.
During July and August 2017, NYO Canada will mount a magnificent, high-visibility pan-Canadian tour – Edges of Canada – which will see specially-commissioned works performed in Canadian cities coast to coast to coast. The 12-city tour will also be the subject of a full-length documentary film, which will be directed by John Bolton of Opus 59 Films and executive produced by Shirley Vercruysse.
About the NYO:
For more than 50 years, NYO Canada (the National Youth Orchestra of Canada) has enjoyed a reputation as Canada’s orchestral finishing school, devoted to the discovery and training of our country’s best young classical musicians.
