Nova Scotia’s own star soprano Jane Archibald joins Symphony Nova Scotia musicians for an intimate, exquisite online concert of beautiful vocal works. Hear the gorgeous, world-famous aria from Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, in a brand-new string arrangement from Symphony Nova Scotia’s Chris Palmer.
Plus, Jane joins forces with our own virtuoso trumpeter Richard Simoneau for Bach’s joyous Jauchzet Gott aria, one of his most spectacular showpieces. We’ll also hear a highlight from Fanny Mendelssohn’s imaginative, elegant String Quartet, and finally, Strauss’ poignant, rapturous love song Morgen! (Tomorrow!), which reminds us with its opening line, “And tomorrow the sun will shine again.”
Finally, Jane sits down with host Suzanne Lemieux to answer previously submitted questions!
