In partnership with Halifax Dance and Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, Symphony Nova Scotia presents an all-new online “Nutcracker in a Nutshell”! Join Clara and her friends as they celebrate Christmas Eve with their favourite tale – and fall into a delightful storybook adventure of magic, fantasy, and friendship. Featuring festive puppets, a condensed cast of characters, and an intimate ensemble of live musicians playing beautifully rescored excerpts of Tchaikovsky’s beloved music, this tale of holiday wonder is a chance to experience The Nutcracker for the first time, all over again.

Celebrating 30 years of Nutcracker in Halifax!

Three decades after its hugely successful launch in 1991, Halifax’s Nutcracker was set to celebrate its 30^th anniversary in 2020. However, due to the pandemic and the need for a more condensed production, we’re postponing our 30^th anniversary celebrations to 2022. We hope to welcome you in person next December at our home in the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium!
