Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker

Symphony Nova Scotia’s The Nutcracker is Halifax’s favourite holiday tradition! When a little girl’s toy comes to life, she’s whisked away to an enchanted world where she meets magical creatures, colourful new friends, and the ferocious Mouse Queen. Complete with larger-than-life puppets, spirited dancing, and Tchaikovsky’s hauntingly beautiful music, this tale of magic and wonder is a seasonal adventure for all ages.

This special performance offers your students the chance to see a magical ballet come to life on stage.

This performance lasts the full two hours, with a 20-minute intermission.

Cost: $15.00 per person (student or chaperone)

Swan Lake Student Matinee

Swan Lake is one of the world’s most beloved ballets, famed for its intricate dancing, fairy tale fantasy, and sweeping Tchaikovsky score. Now, Canada’s Ballet Jörgen and Symphony Nova Scotia perform this timeless tale in all its heroic classical beauty – but re-imagined into a new setting at the 17th-century Fortress of Louisbourg, right here in Nova Scotia. With dazzling choreography, accurate period sets, and lively, imaginative storytelling, Swan Lake is a delightful experience that will captivate young and old alike.
