The Spirit of Winter

“Every year for the last 30 I’ve stood proudly on the stage at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax, NS bringing the Spirit of Winter in The Nutcracker to life.

“From December 8 to 17, I’ll join Symphony Nova Scotia, Halifax Dance, and Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia to create a snowy season for those beautiful dancing dolls.

“Still, I’ve noticed over the years my gown is not as sparkly as it was when we began, and I notice my tall crown slipping slightly when I turn. Even the Spirit of Winter is susceptible to the ravages of time.

“This is why a generous donation to support the production of The Nutcracker could be an important gift from you this year.

“I hope you’ll consider a gift this season.”
