Symphony Nova Scotia announces Jonathan Del Arco as Guest Host of Star Wars vs. Star Trek

Halifax/Kjipuktuk, NS – Symphony Nova Scotia is thrilled to announce actor, author, and activist Jonathan Del Arco as the Guest Host and Narrator for two performances of Star Wars vs. Star Trek on Saturday, Feb. 27 and Sunday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 pm.

“This is my first time participating in a sci-fi symphonic program, and I can’t wait to hear it,” says Del Arco. “Music is such an integral part of storytelling – a great score can lift a project to a whole new level.”

Del Arco rose to prominence playing the fan-favourite role of Hugh the Borg in Star Trek: The Next Generation and later reprised the character in Star Trek: Picard. Audiences also know him as Dr. Fernando Morales from The Closer and Major Crimes, a role he portrayed over the course of a decade.

In addition to his acting, Del Arco has co-authored “Freddy The Alien” with educator Trisha DiFazio, a children’s book inspired by Jonathan’s own experience as a young immigrant. He is a sought-after public speaker who has shared his powerful personal story – immigration, coming out, and surviving school bullying.

In his role as host, Del Arco will be offering behind-the-scenes stories about his Star Trek performances and guiding the audience through the concert’s musical journey.

Star Wars vs. Star Trek will present a cosmic clash of science-fiction titans! Performing iconic themes from the Star Wars films including the Imperial March and Duel of the Fates. Written by legendary composer John Williams, the classic Star Wars soundtracks are renowned for their dramatic melodies and unforgettable tunes. Plus, experience epic orchestral arrangements of your most beloved Star Trek themes from across the years, including music from The Original Series, The Next Generation, and more. Together, the symphony and audience will explore the wonder, drama, and strange new worlds of five decades of science-fiction classics.
