Ticket FAQ
What seating options are there?
For most performances at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium and St. Andrew’s United Church, there are a number of seating sections (and prices) to choose from both on the floor or orchestra level, and in the balcony. We recommend ordering early, or subscribing to get the best available seats! We always give first access to our subscribers.
Please note, at both venues the balcony is only accessible by stairs.
There are a number of spaces in the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium designed to meet the needs of patrons in wheelchairs. To book these spaces, or to discuss other accessibility needs, please contact the Dalhousie Arts Centre Box Office at 902.494.3820.
How can I pay?
The Dalhousie Arts Centre Box Office accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express by phone or in person, as well as cheques, cash, and Interac in person. Please note: The Dalhousie Arts Centre is no longer accepting credit card payments on paper. All tickets purchased at the Dalhousie Arts Centre Box Office are charged a service fee.
Please consider adding a donation to your total!
What if I can’t make it?
You can find this answer and others in our Concert FAQs.
Beware of Third-Party Resellers
Dalhousie Arts Centre Box Office is the only official seller of tickets to Symphony Nova Scotia and we do not authorize the selling of our tickets through third party vendors. Dalhousie Arts Centre and Symphony Nova Scotia are not responsible for tickets purchased through any other means than through Dalhousie Arts Centre Box Office via the Dalhousie ticketing platform, by phone at (902) 494-3820, or in person at 6101 University Avenue. Tickets purchased through unofficial sales channels may be denied entry if proven to be fraudulent.
Common Ways to Spot Illegitimate Tickets:
- Prices posted are higher than those found on dal.ca/artscentre or tickets.artscentre.dal.ca
- You are being charged a service fee on top of the ticket price advertised at dal.ca/artscentre. Ticket prices on our website include handling fees which are, at most, $6.50/ticket.
- The ticket you receive does not show the price on the ticket face or shows a wildly different price from what you paid. (Note: variations of $6.50 or less per ticket may reflect our handling fee which is not included in the price displayed on the ticket face).
- Prices are posted in US dollars.
- Rows are listed without seat numbers. The vast majority of our events have assigned seating and tickets will have a letter (A-X or AA-II) and number assigned to the ticket.
- Individuals or businesses offering tickets on Facebook, eBay, Kijiji, or other sales sites.
- In search engines, be wary of listings marked AD. These are paid listings and could be third-party sellers. Make sure you only click on dal.ca/artscentre or tickets.artscentre.dal.ca
- In search engines, be wary of listings claiming to sell tickets for “Rebecca Cohn Auditorium” with no clear link to Dalhousie University. We do not have website, social media, or ticketing platforms for the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium that are independent from Dalhousie Arts Centre and Dalhousie University.
- If the performance you would like to purchase does not have any available seats on our ticketing platform, call the box office to discuss your options. We are here to help.
- Don’t leave buying tickets to the last minute. You have the best chance to secure seats if you buy early.
