Symphony Nova Scotia highlights the extraordinary talent of our very own musicians in this livestreamed concert of orchestral showpieces. In our penultimate Spotlight concert of the season, Music Director Holly Mathieson leads the orchestra in a performance of Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante – with its bright, vivid colours, arguably one of the greatest of his youthful compositions. This beloved work showcases the exceptional musicianship of our Principal Oboe Danielle Johannes, Principal Clarinet Timothy Yung, Principal Bassoon Gabe Azzie, and Principal Horn Carys Sutherland (named one of CBC’s Classical 30 Under 30 in 2024). Plus, Concertmaster Renaud Lapierre displays his crystalline technique in Pēteris Vasks’ achingly beautiful violin concerto, Distant Light. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience spectacular solo performances from five of our principal musicians.

This concert will also take place at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium. The program will also be repeated in Wolfville.
